June Review

June has been a slow month for me in terms of blogging for Holy Cake Day, and I put it down to two reasons. First of all, my second pet project, Food for Thought, Thought for Food, which requires a lot of reading and thinking before I can publish anything. It is work that I thoroughly enjoy though, but I do wish I had more time to dedicate to it.

Second, we have adopted a dog. Behold the face of trouble!

We thought it would be a good idea to adopt a rescued dog, to offer them a better life (we’re far from perfect, but surely life with us is better than in the pound!). Plus there would be the added benefit of getting a “potty-trained” dog, which was supposed to make my life easier. While she is an incredibly sweet dog at home, she gets rather aggressive when you take her out. And we have no idea why. She’s in puppy school now, which we hope will make a difference soon. (If there are any dog whisperers out there with advice, I’m all ears.)

So with my time stretched between my two new “pets”, with my kids demanding no less time than before, here is what Holy Cake Day has produced in June.
